Welcome to The Joy of Writing w/Monique, a membership group that provides live, online opportunities for accountability, community, inspiration, and fun.
My name is Monique Chénier, and I’ve been finding joy in writing for more than thirty years. I’ve also been sharing that joy with others for at least as long.
If you want to reignite your joy of writing, or light it up for the first time, this might be the place for you.
Here’s what I’m offering every month from Sept. 2026 to June 2027
TWO ‘JOIE D’ÉCRIRE’ EVENING WRITE-INS
- During these 90-minute virtual write-ins, we take a timed-writing approach that allows us multiple generative prompt-based free writes within that period of time. Afterwards, participants are given the opportunity to read what they wrote, if they so choose. Passing is always an acceptable option.
- These writing sessions are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 7 pm to 8:30 pm ET.
- These sessions offer you the opportunity to replenish your writing bank, be inspired by others, and become part of an encouraging and supportive community of writers.
- As a member, you have access to both sessions, although you can choose to limit yourself to one.
MULTIPLE CO-WRITING OPPORTUNITIES
- During these 60-minute virtual co-writing sessions, we start and end with a group check in. In between, we mute our microphones, turn off our cameras, and focus on our personal writing projects* for 40 to 50 minutes.
- These co-writing sessions take place on Mondays through Fridays at 8 am ET, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 12 pm ET, and Tuesdays** and Thursdays at 4:30 pm ET.
- Co-writes offer body-doubling opportunities to help you remain motivated and accountable.
- As a member, you have access to five co-writes a week, and can choose the times that work best for you.
* A generative prompt will be available for participants who prefer to jump into some writing unrelated to a personal project.
** Except on our JOIE D’ÉCRIRE Tuesday night write-ins.
